Amec Foster Wheeler awarded Heat Recovery Steam Generators contract from Iberdrola in Mexico

Summary

• Design and supply of Heat Recovery Steam Generators
• Iberdrola Generación México, S.A de C.V. Noreste combined cycle power plant

Amec Foster Wheeler announces today the award of a third contract in as many months by Iberdrola Generación México, S.A de C.V. for the design and supply of two Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs) in Mexico.

Amec Foster Wheeler will design, supply and provide commissioning and start-up assistance for two HRSGs at the Noreste combined cycle power plant in Escobedo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. The units will be installed on Mitsubishi M501J gas turbines.

The HRSGs will recover exhaust ‘waste’ heat from the gas turbines to generate steam for process and additional power, thereby improving the overall plant efficiency without increasing the fuel consumption. The plant will be operational in 2017.
